A well-preserved example of the classic Swiss 5 Francs from the Bern Mint. Struck in .835 fine silver during a period when these coins still circulated widely.

Obverse: Portrait of a Swiss herdsman (alpine shepherd) facing right, with “CONFŒDERATIO HELVETICA” around the rim. Designed by Paul Burkard.

Reverse: Swiss cross shield flanked by edelweiss and gentian flowers, with denomination “5 FR.” and date above the mintmark “B”.
