Description:

A magnificent large-format official Coronation Medal issued for the 9 August 1902 coronation of King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra.

The obverse features a finely detailed crowned bust of Edward VII facing right, with the legend “EDWARD VII CROWNED 9 AUGUST 1902.” The reverse shows the crowned bust of Queen Alexandra facing left, with the legend “ALEXANDRA QUEEN CONSORT 9 AUGUST 1902.” Both portraits are framed by laurel and floral elements, giving the medal a regal, medallic presence.

Struck in .925 silver, weighing 86.06 grams, and measuring 56 mm in diameter, this is the impressive large size intended for dignitaries and special presentation. These substantial medals have commanding heft and excellent eye appeal.
